Summer Logistics School

Last major milestone of the SLS "Summer Logistics School" project achieved with the implementation of a summer class in early September.

This 27-months project, co-financed by the Erasmus + programme, brought together ten partners from Croatia, France, Italy and Slovenia and helped to develop courses complementary to the existing training offer at EQF level 4 in these four countries. The AFT (French Association for the development of professional training in transport and logistics) contributed to this project by preparing the module on the organisation of transport. Thus, three units were built using different approaches and working methods: first a reminder of the professional reflexes a transport clerk needs to have followed by a practical use case study and finally the use of a pedagogical tool simulating professional situations of the transport clerk that the AFT developed as part of the SIMULTRA project (co-financed by the Erasmus + programme as well).

28 Croatian, Spanish, Italian and Slovenian students attended this first edition of the SLS summer class held from 9th to 13th of September in Portoroz, Slovenia. Also, 12 teachers came to train themselves in the innovative teaching tools and methods developed by the project partners.

The feedback from this experimentation is generally very positive. Ahead of the seminar, more schools wanted to participate, their registrations had to be refused due to the capacity of the classrooms. In retrospect, it can be summarised that the learners voluntarily and actively participated in all units and took full advantage of the opportunity to refresh their knowledge and acquire new skills just before the start of the new school year. Teachers have all been requesting training materials and simulation tools to be able to reuse them in their courses. They were also able to establish contacts to work on future mobility projects. One of the participating schools from Slovenia is furthermore interested in joining the Netinvet network.

The SLS project will officially end on 31st of December. The consortium is currently considering a follow-up project that would be proposed by the current SLS coordinator at the next Erasmus + call for proposals - and would focus on innovative teaching and working methods and the acquisition of cross-cutting skills requested by the companies in the sector.
